Here For You Poem by Abigail Abi

Here For You

The sky is heavy with endless rain
Your heart is drowning in the pain
The world feels colder than it should
But I'd warm it up if I only could

Your tears have carved a silent plea
A bitter song in a minor key
But through the dark you'll hear my voice
I'll be your haven I'll be your choice

Whenever you fall I'll lift you high
When shadows creep and you ask why
Just know I'll hold you through it all
Pick you up when you start to crawl

The night is long but it won't last
This storm will soon fade to the past
And when you're lost in what remains
I'll walk beside you through the flames

The cracks that line us let us glow
The light you've given I'll never let go
So trust that even in despair
My love's a constant it's always there

Whenever you fall I'll lift you high
When shadows creep and you ask why
Just know I'll hold you through it all
Pick you up when you start to crawl

Here For You
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem carries a deep, almost haunting sense of companionship—one that feels unshakable, yet bittersweet. It tells the story of a shadow that never leaves, a silent witness to every step, every mistake, every moment of joy and pain. There's something heartbreaking in that—how the shadow stays when people don't. The way the speaker moves in perfect sync with their shadow mirrors the closeness of a bond, like a love that felt unbreakable. But just like how a shadow fades at night, some connections aren't meant to last forever. The poem speaks to that quiet loneliness—the feeling of having something so close, only to watch it slip away. It's a reminder that even in loss, we carry pieces of what we had. The shadow, like memories, never truly disappears. For someone going through heartbreak, this poem might feel like the echo of what was—a connection once full of rhythm, now just a quiet presence in the background. It's a sad yet beautiful reflection of how love, even when lost, leaves its mark on us.
