Dedicated to Matt

The day we met I felt a connection.
Both our lives had no direction.

You filled the void left in my heart.
I thought you were wonderful right from the start.

Somehow you needed me too,
In what ways neither one of us knew.

I wish the feelings didn't ever start.
You became so much more to my heart.

We had such a blast all summer and fall.
That's when apparently I became nothing at all.

I wanted everything for YOU, beginning to end.
If nothing at all I thought we were friends.

I didn't see you much the next couple of months.
I hoped you were good, didn't bother you much.

Then you showed up to spend the day.
I really was glad! Didn't know what to say.

But things seemed different to me.
Didn't know what I did that made you angry.

You knew you had me forever as your friend.
Then the way I felt used was almost the end.

You will never know how you broke my heart.
My BEST friend? Where do I start?

I want to hate you for what you say and do.
But I can't do that Matt because I love you!

So I will be here for all of your needs.
Just be careful how you hurt me, please!
