Hero Poem by McKenzie Kubicek

Hero

Hero

Strong, bold

Nothing can break him down.

The bravest person I have ever seen in my life.

Fighting for freedom of the whole world, nothing can stop him from saving lives that are lost from chaos, broken hope, danger around every corner.

Saving children that are unable to move from the spot they are stuck in, feeling hopeless. They see a super hero coming to save them and bring them into a safe place, no longer going to be harmed, and to be in contact with harmful people who hurt them deeply.

The hero is someone who will never give up saving people's lives; the only thing that matters, in that hero's life is saving others. No matter the risks, life or death. Getting shot at every 30 seconds. Hiding behind broken down walls, that can only keep him safe for a short period of time. Avoiding those who run towards him, suicide bombers, little kids, elderly people. Those are the lives that he can't save, brainwashed to do only what they were told. Not knowing if he will come home safe. Having children of his own, he knows he has to.

Fight till the end or fight till the death. An area of chaos, just blood and death every way he looks. But knowing if something bad is going to happen. At night is when he has to keep his sleep- heavy eyes open. Death might be around the corner for him.

Save them! Is what is screaming in his head; no one gets left behind. He has come this far and nothing can make him give up.

Even feeling like he is getting covered by the cloak of death, in a matter of seconds.

Dying for his country, honored

Those children

Saved
