Hi Poem by Alim Lamont

Hi

Before I say goodbye,
Who am I?
When I see me in an old picture I see someone else.
Even the eyes in which my memories are viewed from are not that of my own.
I am not the man you last spoke to.
I am not the man who woke up this morning.
I am not even the same man who started this poem.
So who am I?
Who I am is change.
I am adapting.
I am always new.
I am the new that I choose.
The same me that is to you is not to them.
I'm like a breath on the wall fading to be replaced by another.
The amount of people I've been and will be is enough to overwhelm infinity.
Like all, I was once a blank canvas, now I'm art.
Some get me, some don't, yet.
This piece of who I am, is different from all angles.
Someone new and someone old.
Oh, I what I'm trying to say is,
Hello!

So very true. We are never the same as we used to be yesterday, or even just five minutes ago. The ever changing nature of our personality, though tied by character traits and past experience, is a very fluid thing. Like this poem a lot. Worth a 10 in my book
