'Hide-Ill' World Poem by Oluwaseyi Francis Adeosun

'Hide-Ill' World

"HIDE-ILL" WORLD

I converse with silence.
I hear the noise of the grave.
I know of a place where
The earth stands still.
I referred the match between
The sun and the moon.

I graced a fight
Between the night and the day.
Settled a rift between
"Ajala" and "Ajagunmale" his friend.
I counselled,
"Ijapa" and "Yanibo" his wife.

I was a witness,
When the cat tore apart a lion.
When politics became morality.
When status became password.
When future became illusion.
When "ALL" was baptised "I"

I once lived in a land,
Where virgins were infertile.
Where silence was deafening
Where insanity was a norm.
Where ten was lesser than five.
Where kids were parents.

I know of a deaf who eave drops.
I know of a blind that is a peeping-tom
I know of a cripple who trespasses.
I have a dump friend who tells lies.
I have a barren neighbour, mother of two.
I know him, a trust-worthy betrayal.

We both live in the world,
Where morality is a sin,
Virginity a burden,
Sincerity a plight,
Stability a vice, and
Security a threat.
