I Am An Herbal-List Poem by Oluwaseyi Francis Adeosun

I Am An Herbal-List

I AM AN HERBAL-LIST

To 'ogun lakaaye osin mole',
I bear no sacrifice.
To 'esu odara onile orita'
I pay no homage.
To shoponna eledan ara',
I offer no pedition.

'Ewe'
'Egbo'
'Eso'
Exchange romance,
In the belly of the clay
On a three seater stone.

Fever!
Aches!
Cold!
Must take a bow
And vanish
At your sight oh ye Concortion.

In the body is works magic.
Even at 80 they live Healthy,
Because 'ko ko ko lara o'ta n le'
'Opa eyin rogo'
'Airomobi wo ijogbon'
Because, 'abamoda kii da ti e ko mase'

Gradually its fading away
We now hate bitter taste
That brings agility.
We love sugary paste
Accompanied by mysterous infemities
Little wonder our life span is shortened.

'Atare n tani ji ni'
'Ewe obo n ba aje leru'
'Dongoyaro' n s'ara loore'
'Eti erin (aloe vera) n mara jolo'
Hearken oh ye son of man
'Isese lagba' in case you dont know.
