Him Poem by Tanisha Lawrence

Him

Rating: 5.0

Your eyes told me a thousand things,
Your words never could.
Drowning in sweet sorrow
I lost my lifeline deep inside you.

Your saviour; my destruction;
Your repentance; my come uppance.
A fool was born within that moment
Irreversible, replaceable and broken.

Thrown away with no objection,
Your eyes betraying the lies within.
It's cold outside the confines
of your spider web safety net trapping den.

Your eyes told me a thousand things
Your words never could.
My eyes told you a million things
I simply whispered one.
