Your eyes told me a thousand things,
Your words never could.

I lost my lifeline deep inside you.

The Playroom

Without people you are lost
frozen in time, the lights
go off and time stands still.

Cabin fever - four walls within
themselves. Closing in, pushing out,
lying in wait for another day

and tomorrow the lights return
the people flood back and you move
in time, in pace with those.

Your days define your nights, sometimes
tidy, sometimes cluttered, usually
darkened, occasionally bright.

They imprint on your actions, leave
mucky handprints on tarnished
surfaces - unclean, defiled and wanted.

Don't forget who you are with them and
never forget who you are without.
You are a room - they make you special.
