Him Poem by Eleen Strydom

Him

As I listen to the sound
As I come back to the ground
Slowly but surely

My heart beets faintly
It jumps leaps painfully
... for the most, I hide it

I'm sorry for the pain I caused
I'm sorry that I had to pause
I'm sorry, I wish I never did

Just take a look at us now
It seemed that you wanted more than friends,
but I said no...

Just take a look at us now
Someway, somehow it seems like,
You've become my obsession

The slow passing of winter,
again and again
Frost on dead leaves and icy lakes
Crushed under trampling feet and ignorance

Take a look at us now
I almost lost our friendship
I'm sorry... I'm sorry I'm in love
