Him, Me And The Sea Poem by Mariedith Maghari

Him, Me And The Sea

My angel is there, perched on a tree
With arms crossed, he's smiling at me
But from a distance, I could see
He was looking at the vast sea.

The sea, in which I long to be,
'Cause never was I there, since I was three
But sadly, against my reverie,
He looked past me.

The sea is more beautiful compared to me,
I do, know that, really
But I just can't help, feeling to be
A bit jealous over the pretty sea.

To tell you the truth, he is dreamy.
The kind that you might likely see,
In a boring romance movie.
But except that, his hair is way too messy.

I know he holds the key,
To the lock where my heart should be.
How come he's not looking at me?
Instead, to the marvelous sea?

As I walked towards him briskly,
I stumbled, and fell to my knee.
With a limp, I scraped all the debris
That stuck on my hair, and favorite tee.

Now, I found him above me,
Still perched on that lovely tree
I hoped he'll be happy, happy to see me,
Under his tree

By then, I could clearly see,
He really was looking at me
Oh boy, wasn't he only happy,
He was laughing at me.
