Murderer of millions, Head of the SS
and Gestapo Chief Heinrich Himmler
was a major perpetrator of the Holocaust.
Yet, according to Albert Camus at least,
this heinous Nazi had also a gentle self:
Thus, when he came home,
Himmler used to enter his house
very cautiously and very quietly,
because he did not want to wake up
his sleeping canary.

Its a true banality of evil, or to be precise the banality of normalcy, one of the greatest architects of the holocaust still had a small sense of compassion, but only afforded to non human life. The Scary thing is so many people extend more love for their pets then fellow human beings. A lovely write Paul
