He wasn't baptized, had no communion or spoke in tongues
Those beliefs or conformation never left his lungs,
He never volunteered, or gave tithes or wore church clothes
He never went on a mission trip or go to church when he arose.
Then on that very long and faithful day
He couldn't even bend his knees to pray,
He didn't say the sinners prayers and among other things
Because, he was a thief who stole food and money and rings.
Jesus didn't take away the thief's pain
Or to cool him Jesus did not call down the rain,
Jesus didn't heal his body or smite his every mocker
Because, yes he was indeed a robber.
It was a thief indeed that later walked into paradise
The very same hour as Jesus by believing in the prize,
The thief had nothing more to offer than is belief who Jesus was
Then the finally found everlasting love.
There was no spin even from brilliant theologians
Who compared and talked of different beliefs and religions,
There was no ego involved or even arrogance
We all are invited for the same loving and joyful inheritance.
There was no shiny lights or skinny jeans
No crafty words, donuts or coffee or haze machines,
There was a dying young man on a cross unable to fold his hands in prayer
Because, he then knew beside him the son of God was there.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only son
Then the Lord knew it was finished and it was done,
Though here we will still have worries and also strife
But, he who believes in him will not perish, but will have everlasting life.
