His Name Was Christian Poem by Randy McClave

His Name Was Christian

It was a 9 year old lad
The other day made both his parents glad,
The other day he was at our church
Listening to the pastor preaching from his perch.
He sang when we all sang
With an enthusiasm he sung and sprang,
Then when our hearts by him were won
He then told us that his name was Christian.

He said he did spiritually understand
As he decided to take the Lord Jesus by his hand,
When he understood that Jesus paid the price
He then gave his life to Christ.
He then asked if he could be baptized
In front of all hearts and also all joyful eyes,
Away from God he would never run
He then told us his name was Christian.

He told the pastor he wants to be saved
How he wants a new road for him to be paved,
How he wants to give his life to the Lord
And to live by the word and not by the sword.
His parents came to our church today
And I watched as they worshiped and also did pray,
They told me how proud they are of their son
And they told us his name was Christian.
