His Tongue. Poem by Terry Collett

His Tongue.

Rating: 2.5

His tongue entered
your ear

licked the rim
and lobe

and made its way
down your neck

becoming dry
as it reached

never mind that now
he never told you

he had a wife
back in L.A.

and that she
was dying

of cancer
and there he was

trying to get you
into bed

and have his way
and if it hadn’t been

for that photo
of her

falling on the floor
when he took off

his pants
you would never

have known
but there you are

no matter how far
you look

you can never
look too far.
