A pin, a gleam, a tiny art,
Held words within its shining heart.
The cloth of flags, so bold and bright,
United states and royal might.
A present given, long ago,
A city's wish, a friendly glow.
It spoke of years, a bond so true,
A special link for me and you.
For leaders, seeing this small thing,
Can bring a memory, make hearts sing.
But also, it can softly say,
'This friendship needs some care today.'
The words we speak can sometimes fray,
But this small symbol lights the way.
A quiet hint, a gentle plea,
To mend the ties, for all to see.
The Queen wore it, a simple way,
To show what history has to say.
Not loud, but felt, a hopeful sign,
A history, and a future line.
