History Repeating Itself Poem by Raymond Farrell

History Repeating Itself

Rating: 4.0

I cannot recall the future
But now that it has arrived
I remember it happened
Many, many years ago
Then it seemed to vanish
Only to reappear again, today
And when we finally grow tired
Of its morays and ways
We will transition to another state
Gradually and placidly perhaps
Or suddenly and violently
But someday in the future
Today will again reappear
With its essence in tact
Wearing a new garment perhaps.

My last poem spoke of basically the same thing; history repeating itself
