The king, the beggar, side by side,
No crowns, no rags, nowhere to hide.
The rich, the poor, the strong, the weak,
A silent whisper, all we speak.
Beneath the soil, or turned to smoke,
A final stillness, softly spoke.
No voice to plead, no eyes to see,
Just dust and shadows, wild and free.
History watches, with quiet gaze,
Through all our living, all our days.
And in that judgment, we all are one,
When all our earthly life's race is run.
