Hold Me Close And Tell Me True Poem by Gail Grierson

Hold Me Close And Tell Me True

Rating: 4.0

Perhaps you think I’m kidding
When I say that I love you
And more than anything I want
To spend my life with you.

I guess I am not coming through
With words you understand
Or maybe you’re not listening, so
Come closer, take my hand.

Just walk along and talk with me
And tell me how you feel;
If you don’t love me, tell me so,
It may hurt but I will heal.

Living in a fantasy is
Not the life that I prefer;
I’d rather know just where I stand
Than continue in a blur.

So, hold me close and tell me true,
This much I need from you;
And if you do not feel the same,
I’ll walk on, with a fond adieu.
