Hold Me Up Lord Poem by Rik Bertrand

Hold Me Up Lord

I wonder about life every day,
My thoughts drift to and fro.
I do not understand my heart,
Maybe it is time to go.

I mingle with gods words,
And I pray that he is with me.
I lower my head and cry,
Hoping no one else can see.

Time takes its toll on all,
For me it's taken a little more.
I wish for no pity or well wishes,
It is time for a new décor.

I wonder about life every day,
I am tired and I should go.
Time has bid me farewell,
And I have lost that earthen glow.

(Then the lord comes up behind me
And he takes a hold so strong.
He says: It is not your time son,
You have not composed your song")

I tell Him "Hold me up my lord,
Hold me and do not let me fall,
Give me strength, for to carry on,
Until I hear your call."

The lord is the all mighty,
And his words are full of grace.
He said "You are the strong one,
You will win true life's race.

REB (2012) sometimes you think today is your last, and then God goes and opens his mouth. Thank you Lord.

I believe I could describe your poetry as 'symmetrical' it's so balanced and beautiful.
