Hold On Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Hold On

Stand up tall
As the wind blows in
Keep your face still like stone
While the storm looks you in the eyes.
Promise to never let go.

Lightning glares at you
Rain shoves you
Thunder scares you
but you stand strong.
Never letting go.

Wind kicks up
Dirt flies in your eyes
You don't blink
Tears sting your eyes.
And yet you hold on.

Fear creeps up on you
You stand strong
Death calls you
You tell him he is wrong.
You're still holding on.

God speaks to you
You look back
The storm is behind you
You have made it through.
And I'm still holding on to you.
