Holding Poem by Carolyn Brunelle

Holding

Sometimes I wonder
if you haven’t a clue.
that beyond being friends
I’m also in love with you.
I pray for a day
when the light will dawn;
and become a reality...
that there is more
than a friendship
between you and me.
But until then I must
keep a lock on my heart,
be your best friend
and hide this other part,
because
I love you enough
to hold to my dream,
and hold on tight;
a day will come
when you will see me
in a different light.
