Home Again Poem by Hec Stewart

Home Again

Rating: 5.0

Home...where I once rested my head
where a love was created never before seen
inside the gates of her arms and thru the
doors of her heart was my warm bed
and being home was like living a dream

But at the will of stupidity I snuck away
followed a path of deceit that led me astray
out to the deserts of the land shores of the sea
just to find out there was nothing there for me
so i decided to go back home, where I
realized i belong...but I lost the key

Somewhere between walking thru the valleys
of selfishness and down the dark hills of denial
i lost what kept me in my beloved home
and no matter what or who comes my way,
at the end of the day im still alone

So here and now I make the vow to never
wander or disallow the truth like i did then
I stand at the gates, willing to do all it takes
All I want is a chance to come home again
