Home Going Soldier - Poem by David Lewis

A Soldier of God’s army,
You now lay down to rest.
As a testament of time,
You’ve given it your best.

You lay here in body,
Prepared for your home going.
Your spirit is still with us,
As we sit here knowing,
Your future will be bright,
As you dance in the grace of peace,
The Lord has shown you the way,
To shine in your increase.

God enabled you to see –
Your children grow.
He enabled you to see –
Your children’s – children grow.

What a blessing it truly is,
To leave a legacy -
that will last for many years.

Fulfillment of a dream, is all
anyone could ever ask for.
We now say goodbye,
As you step upon heaven’s door.

For God’s soldier is going home
To take his place in eternal peace.
Happiness and joy,
God’s soldier –
Rest in peace.
