Home Sour Home Poem by Edwin Tanguma

Home Sour Home

There is nothing like living
In the Good Old USA
I am not one to complain either
Where else can the rich borrow money at ½ %
And loan it out to the poor at 30 %
It could be worse
You could borrow from the so called money stores
Talking about a vicious cycle
Yet there are some nice things about the USA
You can be proud of all the graven images wherever you turn
Most of the government buildings built by
The secretive Free Masons who charge much more
Than any other builders to build anything
And take twice as long to do it too
Well
I could have been born in some other country
So maybe I should not complain
Who knows
Maybe my body would still be complete
And not broken as it now is
Thanks to greedy Corporate America
Wanting more and more production
So that some executive
Could get a larger bonus
And get me to reveal more
From the 'Me In The Spirit World'
There is one good thing
I can say about it though
Early retirement for those like me
Broken and out of our minds
I would much rather be whole though
Though such a thing will never happen
I would much rather be able to
Enjoy the leisurely activities
Which I once did
Especially prospecting
Who knows
Maybe I could have found some things
That could have lifted me out of poverty
Like metals or gems perhaps
Oh Well
American Home Products was warned
Not to hurt those things mentioned in
The Book of Revelation
After all
It was only my right shoulder
And ya’ll did fix it
Right
Hehehe
