Honoring Aiden Poem by chris schwartz

Honoring Aiden

There's a little boy
In a hospital bed
Fighting with all his might
A smile as big
As the morning sun
His future darker
Than the night.

Those he loves
Wrap their loving arms
Round their son
Til he closes his eyes
He drifts off into
The world they not
Yet know.
Tears drown him with sweet
Lullabies.

There's a new star
In The Heavens
Tonight
Shining down on
This small world.
He sees all
That we haven't seen
Shining so brightly
Lord, he's earned
His wings.
His name
Is Aiden.
His name
Is Aiden.
And he shines
For you and me.

"The sky's been calling you,
Aiden.
Been waiting,
So patiently,
We need you,
Our Sweet Little Angel,
Without you,
Heaven's not meant to be."

Silence screams
In the aftermath
Those he loves
Can hold him no more.
He left them with smiles
For just a little while,
Chains of this earth
Have set him free.

There's a new star
In the Heavens tonight
Shining down
On this small world.
He sees all the things
We haven't seen
Shining so brightly,
Lord, he's earned
His wings.
His name is Aiden
His name is Aiden
And he shines
For you and me.
