Honua Kai Poem by Jake Deeds

Honua Kai

Rating: 5.0

My bare steps straddle Honua Kai
With emerald greens and frothy white
That merge into one neither land nor sea
And a warm wind whispers as day welcomes night

I hide not from the starlight above
The hunger deep in a place unnamed
Where Honua Kai my true love
Will forever keep me truly untamed

And the salted air flows freely from vein to vein
My mind is purged of the right foots bond
The left foot keeps me literally sane
Of which I am nearer the fond

The words are written in waves of one
My true love is etched in my desires to be
Weathered from salt, sand and sun
And a dim wrinkle in memory of Honua Kai <><
