Hope Poem by Wade Bouton

Hope

Rating: 5.0

How can love exist in a cold heart
When the beating of the mundane
Leaves no room for love to start

How does one begin
To erase all the ills of the world
And to love again

How will someone special appear
Will they recognize their fate
Or be blind to the one that they would hold dear

How have you spent your years
Always searching for more
And forever ending in tears

How do you hold on to your sanity
When the hands of time
Leaves nothing but your vanity

How can you find a spark
To reignite the fire that used to burn bright in your heart
When always you live in the dark

You throw off the shackles of despair
By treading into the light
And leaving behind the night

Embracing the things that make us real
Opening our heart to all
And walking proud and tall

Experience all that life has to offer
Before its too late to feel
And your heart can no longer heal

Never shy away from looking into the future
We always have to believe in hope
To make sense of the world and to cope

I do believe I will find my one
To fill in the missing pieces and walk hand in hand
To our promise land

To take me through the next chapter of my journey
To one day complete the picture in my head
As I lie down one last time on my bed

The light shining through the darkness
Warming my heart and mind
Leaving the chaotic earth behind.
