Hope Poem by clara koehn

Hope

Rating: 5.0

I walk alone
In my own desolation.

My fears
make a desert
of my heart.

I'm trying to go forward.
But all I can see
is Backward.

I hear my dreams
Empty
Useless
Flapping in the wind.

My ideals
are dry and broken
underfoot.

Oh Lord, come and
rock me to sleep
and

Wake me up
with the gift of
a Future with You.

I like the way this is written. The short choppiness of it depicts loneliness and sorrow. Keep it up!
