Hope For A Brighter New Day Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

Hope For A Brighter New Day

We had hopes for a new day
Prayed, fasted, and gave charity
Some of our dreams were met
Others totally shattered
And we lived with it for a whole year
Yeah! This soon-to-pass year

The pain, anxiety, panic and stress,
The tears, fears, and failed promises
And the rise, suspense and falls
All crippled our successes
And we wobbled and wobbled un-end
But soon that era with its troubles shall end

There is hope in the yet-to-come new dawn
The hope that the rains will come and green our lawn
That the old dreams, wishes, and thoughts shall materialize
And that the new dawn will not just bear flowers
But bear eatable and satisfying fruits
And that our hopes shall graduate to assurances
