Hope On Heart Poem by Wilfred Munyaradzi Pondiwa

Hope On Heart

Rating: 3.5

Once, I learnt to love and get hurt.
Instead of getting weak, the heart hardened as it should be.
I promised caution with love and closed my heart forever,
For tears might shed again as my wounded heart is left lonely.

Because of my dark yesterday,
I become an island for a long time.
I've resort myself to isolation these days.
I no longer wish to love this time.

Then suddenly you came behind my eyes.
You woke my comatosed heart.
You are the fire that melted my ice,
In my bitterness that I thought would never depart.

If I only knew you'd come today,
Oh, how I wish yesterday I have waited you!
But even if forever loses its way,
I'd be glad if my tomorrow is with you.
