Life Poem by Wilfred Munyaradzi Pondiwa

Life

Rating: 4.0

Those restless nights,
Days when I feel like I don't want to continue,
Why? I ask myself;
Why am I feeling like this?
Where's my motivation?

Why can't I be like everyone else,
Normal and Sane?
Maybe because everything I've been through,
Is driving me insane.

I do the best I can but it's never good enough;
The mask that I put on every day,
It stays unnoticed by the people around me.
I hide, I run, but most of all I suffer.

Every night I stay up late,
Crying, wishing I could disappear,
Disappear from that world that I hate.
The world that ruined me.

Do I have a future?
Do I have a life?
Should I continue complaining,
When I'm still alive?

Many people live,
Many people die.
But here I am, wondering;
Wondering if I deserve to live.

Do I make a difference?
Do I matter?
I don't know.
Wouldn't it better if I were gone?
Replaced by someone who could do so much more.

I'll live my life like I do every day.
Covering up my pain,
Smiling to show that I'm alright.
