Hopelessness is an adventurer,
desperately lost in the Sahel,
hobbled by thirst,
hamstrung by disorientation,
tethered by hunger,
facing the sandstorm,
alone.
The deeply embedded knowing
that each of the untold billions of glass-sharded grains
will soon pierce and blast away
every soft cell of his body
at the speed of fiery neutrons exploding from the particle accelerator.
Hopelessness screams above the booming voice of the bulbous storm,
certain of no escape,
death by blister, burn and blast.
Hopelessness kneels beside its skeleton,
helpless, abandoned, waiting, knowing
there is no point in doing anything else.

A good depiction of life at its lowest ebb - the deplorable state of hopelessness, well articulated and insightfully penned with conviction. A lovely piece indeed. Thanks for sharing Goddo. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
