Your footsteps memorized
Your harsh voice remembered
Your evil words tormenting every thought
No safe place to go to get away
You terrify my thoughts and dreams
Another bruise
Just one more scar to remind you it's not okay
Your hand coming down harder each blow
I've tried to tell the truth
But every bodies ears are closed
They just laugh it off
There's always that some one
That some one who knows what it's like
To feel the terror and tension when you hear their voice
Alone where no one knows
We can talk about what has gone down
But no one else knows the impact it has
You can't get away from it
You can't even hide
Every safe place gone
Every joyful moment forgotten
With the bad suffocating the good
The only ones who know
Are those who have walked their lives through this horror story
