Hoshanah Rabbah 5771 Poem by Shalom Freedman

Hoshanah Rabbah 5771

Hoshanah Rabbah 5771

The night does not end
Nor does its loneliness-
Others learn together
I sit alone
Writing my own mind.
The family I dreamed
Will never be;
Sadness sinks me down
As if all the world
Has gone away-
God Who was with for me
For so many years
May soon go away also-
What is Man that Thou
Are mindful of him
Or the son of Man
That Thou givest him heed?
