Hot Mic Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hot Mic

Rating: 3.5

Hot Mic

1.
Was new in city.
At age of five to six.
And trained to have faith
And believe in police.

So, sought help, was taken
And placed on counter,
One of them brought food,
Like his son, I was fed.

Finally came my dad
…I went home...
On the way he told me:
"Police is family…"

2.
Grew older, not old,
Was open to said, told:
"Fed a dog with blood,
The blood of my heart,
Unaware of result…"

Though blood is food for,
The leech and vampire,
Dogs too, can, love blood.

3.
Of the rape I questioned:
"Which one is the hardest? "

Broke me the answer:
"Those done by closest."

4.
Proved most recent years
Nothing is as was said…

No, nothing except dog
That always sucks blood
Of the herd and shepherd.
5.
In the past parents taught:
"The police officer
Are the ones who defend
Our rights with love and care."

6.
World has changed.
World has changed.

7.
Looking at USA of today
I observe the U turn
And walking in reverse.

8.
Saw woman demonstrate
Her young son next to her,
She told the journalist:
"It is my duty…"
Clear was message
"Don't trust officers! "

9.
The police and leader
Act as dog, the lover
Of blood you give them.

10.
My friends and my kind
In Beijing to Hong Kong
Istanbul and Moscow
And Bahrain to Sana'a,
Brazil's Amazon
To Riyadh and Tehran,
Tel Aviv and London,
Argentine, Pakistan
And all of Africa,
India to Lima to La Paz
Washington has shown us
We must open our eyes
To raise voice and revise,
How to deal with the dogs.
11.
The police and leaders
No more are our friends
Kick them out raise fire.

12.
I do not only talk,
On this, I lost my life
In action…not speech!

13.
I flew Hercules
With head up, stood against
Abusers of power.

14.
In one of our flights
During eight-year-war
When I went to cabin
Saw Sadeq Khalkhali!

A Mullah? VIP?

15.
Corrupted with power
Gave himself permission
To pick up my book, read:
"Prophet's youngest wife."

PA on, with hot mic,
I spoke with Mullah:
"Sir, do you not teach us
Not to touch what belongs
To others, is not ours? "

Polite and indirect
I told him what I meant:
"You are thief and stole…! "

Informed me long after
Two of our loadmasters:
"We stopped mullah's men
With their guns, to come up! "
