Houses Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Houses

Houses

Look to right, see houses
-look like the Lego parts;
-scattered are pieces
-roads, people and bricks
-everything is for games
-similar and alike; artificial…
-simply change a hat
-and woman turns to man

For some time I have now,
-worked with those building homes
-collected trash, did blue-skin, stucco
-therefore I know the base
-is planks and wood bars
-Two by four and so on
-plywood and rarely some teakwood
-speedy, clumsy later they, are covered
-with lot of polymers, Styrofoam, plastic

Forgetting care and art
-they rush, build
-and you buy
-no trace of old works
-Saint Basil's Cathedral
-or Hotel Shah Abbas
-no one thinks to have left
-worthwhile things for others
-Oakville's rich and White House's
-for money suck blood…

I fill sad for you and the next guests
-of houses like these ones
-you are safe only if
-great hands of Allah
-or God's wants
-tell natures: "stay calm"
-no wind and no thunder
-no rain in extreme to ponder
-f they come you and I
-will die in mess and shit…
-the sewage will flood with the house…
