Housewife Poem by Attoor Sreekanthanezhuthachan

Housewife

Retired early, got some money in lieu
To claim it, I was told to wait in a queue
Saw a pretty lady, nice look, nice view
She said please don't stare, you I will sue

You retired? Asked with a pinch of satire
No, she said from my work I never retire
I'm my boss I decide my work and attire
I don't work, I live it for my lifetime entire

What's that interesting work? I wondered
Asked her not, but my mind wandered
Saw my confusion, an answer she rendered
Housewife I am, have you seen any retired?

Never make fun, the most critical function
If she stops, stops there the entire nation
Keep her happy, have no any other option
For she is godsend, beyond imagination!

Sree....

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
At times when someone ask you what does your mom do? we go silent, finally in a feeble voice say Housewife, but believe me, it is the most powerful and satisfied post in the world.
