How Can I Make My Heart Forget Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

How Can I Make My Heart Forget

Rating: 4.0

The dried leaves that did not fall in Winter
flutter in the Springtime wind
and dropp about green grass
their will to hang on has dimmed

Birds chirp in the distance
and chimes clang with it blow fast
and I sit here wishing I was first but feeling last
for this life of sadness I feel miscast

And just as I realize it's beauty
I'm reminded that I have somehow sinned
and throw my dreams of love
as cries upon the wind

I care about you for no reason
Wishing that upon you I could somehow depend
Even if this world was to somehow end
I hoped our hearts would mesh and blend

But I ask more than I deserve
and more than you can give
So I struggle to stop pulling
and fall away to let you live

But I love you like the clammor
in Springtime's gentle breeze
as the green and pink buds appear on the trees
and your imagined touch would dropp me to my knees

How can I make my heart forget
the smiles you made it feel
and the tears of hope, still wet
upon my eyes since our hearts met

Don't waste your heart on worry
and imaganed jealousy
You are someone special
deep inside of me

And if I had one day left
and If I was somehow free
I'd belong to you
and you'd belong to me

My eyes have grown sadder
sadder still than they used to be
because in you I tasted all the possibility
and felt too all the silence and misery

Imagining your heartbeat ringing softly next to me
But you hide your affecton away
and I have lost my fight
and it feels without you
Nothing will ever turn out right
