How Can I Say Poem by Mohammad Younus

How Can I Say

How can I say,
You have created me,
Independent and separate?
Yet still I see,
Me as not apart from you,
A reflection of your light.
My soul you breathed into me,
Shining with your light.

How can I say,
I am alone and alienated,
When in my heart,
I still feel your presence?
A connection deep,
A bond so strong and true,
A sense of belonging,
To you, I feel always.

How can I say,
I have not my origin in you,
When every breath I take,
Is a gift from you?
A reminder of your love,
Your care and your might,
A sense of belonging,
To the Absolute Unity,
Fills my heart above the brim.

How can I say
I am alone and alienated,
When your presence is with me,
In every moment,
I'm created by you anew?
A sense of peace,
A sense of calm and rest,
A feeling of being home,
in your loving nest.

How can I say,
You do not control and guide me,
When every step I take,
Is guided by your decree?
A path of purpose,
A journey of discovery,
A sense of direction,
That surely I can see.

How can I say,
I am alone and alienated,
When in my eyes,
I see a reflection of your light?
A love so pure, so true,
So free and so bright,
A love that created me,
and will forever be my light.
