How do I define the the void my soul has possesed?
or the void that has possesed my soul?
By what verse or syllable or vernacular?
The battlegrounds of melancholy and merriment
upon whose fields I place my banner
at the half way point
The wings I wear whose feathers
plucked from hope and dreams
and the anchor of agony
housed within my gut
that keeps me from flying
so I walk with wings open
How do I define
the will to sing sweet syllables
but the tongue, having been too salted
with sorrow, curls back upon itself
leaving a lump in the throat
and the after taste of lead
How do I define
The rush against the raging ocean
and the limbo
of wanting both; to dissovle into the sea foam
and to return to the shore
to watch the sunset
