How Do You Say Goodbye Poem by Daniel Wittfoth

How Do You Say Goodbye

How do you say goodbye
when all you can hear
the sound of teardrops falling

When the words get caught
on the tip of your tongue
From that last kiss
bitter sweet still lingering

How do you say goodbye
when you're tryin' to keep your heart
from falling to pieces

When every emotion within
is fighting just to survive
To make it through another day
for better times to experience

How do you say goodbye
when it hasn't all been bad
not all regrets or mistakes made

When even in the briefest moments
love fought like the sun after the rains
To shine through the anger of it all
and learn to forgive and forget

How do you say goodbye
when all you can hear
the sound of teardrops falling...
