How Far Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

How Far

Rating: 5.0

What is the true measure of love?
Touch of skin against skin
Laying together as one
The millimetre between bodies embracing
As we tumble in our love making ardour
An inch that we give each other
To draw breath in respite
The foot that we can bare to be apart
As we stroll along loves path
Yards of agony when you are gone
Making the miles between seem endless
In the lifetime of lovers
Or is it the eternity
The blind hope and faith
Knowing time nor distance can separate
No measure can define forever
Merely the twinkling of an eye
A voice in unison
Saying “I love you”
