How He Loved Me Poem by Mohammad Younus

How He Loved Me

How He Loved Me

How He loved me,
And still does,
Timelessly.
Yet, I was ungrateful,
Blind to His love.

He immersed me
In the color pool
Of His affection.
Of all the hues,
His was the purest.

He showed me the path
To my true essence.
I thought I was fine
Going my own way,
Ignoring the straight path.

Astray from the divine,
I missed the real.
I buried myself
In delusion and illusion.
Still, He loved me.

I know this because
Divine intelligence warns me.
In my quest for a divine life,
I failed to build
A lasting bond with Him.

As time went on,
I drifted further apart.
Though I feel Him
In my heart and soul,
Something had changed.

Somewhere down the line,
I stopped believing.
One day, He told me,
'Your term is ending.'
It was a great surprise.

Now I am alone,
Yet walking towards Him.
Walking is my compulsion,
Rotation and revolution
Of heavenly bodies.
