How It Felt Poem by Joshua Thomas

How It Felt

Rating: 5.0

Thirty days and thirty nights I cried
I couldn’t stand the thought of how I lied.
Guilt consumed me till I nearly died.
When I thought about you.

I hung my head with a heavy sigh.
All I wanted was a place to hide.
I still remember those tears in my eyes.
‘Fore I ever told you.

You deserved a place on the highest throne
And I felt the tears as you dropped the phone
My mind was screamin’ “baby please don’t go.”
But stayed silent on through.

You up and left me with a broken soul.
But I deserved an even bigger toll.
Never again was my heart a whole.
Life through a shade of blue.

But I deserved an even bigger toll. Never again was my heart a whole. Life through a shade of blue. Love it.
