How It Seems To Be Poem by Francis Duggan

How It Seems To Be

The future a mystery the past a memory
And we can only live in the now is how it seems to be
On how long we will live is not for us to say
For many this will be their last living day
The longest lived humanlife in time not a long span
On average a few years more for a woman than it is for a man
But the fact of the matter is and fact never lie
Is the longer you live the sooner you will die
Time as is said does never stand still
Today the water of the stream that is flowing down the hill
Tomorrow will be near to the great ocean shore
And life will go on as it will forever more
We live in the now and the future ahead
And the past just a memory as has often been said.
