How Marvellous Indeed Poem by Francis Duggan

How Marvellous Indeed

How marvellous indeed the gift of memory
It takes us back in time to the what used to be
It is all that we have to remember the past
And the clocks on our lives ever keep ticking fast
We live in the now and the future is ahead
But sadly those who lost their gift of memory are of the living dead
To live a quality life a good memory you do need
Without it you are a poor person indeed
Though a multi millionaire he does not recognize his wife
He now lives a silent and a miserable life
Bereft ofthought in his locked room he sits on his chair
Even for the materially wealthy life can be unfair
How marvellous indeed the great gift of memory
For those who lose it how very sad life can be.
