How Much Is The Cost For Freedom Poem by Hassan Bamigboye

How Much Is The Cost For Freedom

how much is the cost for freedom! ! !
have my sweats not bought enough?
yea... I am a carefree serf
dare not! to call me a slave.
all In the name of civilization....
our ebony was scarred with wands
adorned with shackles is thine hands
our feet were brushed by the molten sands.
the torments were not enough albeit
our kids were loaded into cargo and freight
our women harassed and raped out of spite
your stay here has been a sting like the hornet's
I've penned my sorrows in this sonnet
when will you leave? you sly fiend! ! !
