Is love the thing that lifts you up
when your heart hangs low to the ground
Is love the thing that pushes you forward
when in your sins you are bound
Is love the thing that wipes your tears
when they kiss the cheek of your face
Is love the thing that holds you tight
when theres noone to embrace
Love is my love thats always there but never leaves a trace

Where was love when i was young
and abuse became a trend
Where was love when i went through
and my fights would have no end
Where was love when the dark man killed
and brought my body pain
Where was love when i cried and cried
and hung my head in shame
Love is my love that was always there but never when it rained
