How The Future Looks To Someone Aged 18, Faced With The Economic Doom And Gloom, After Being Raised A Pessimist-Turned Nut Case....... Poem by Jessica Hawkes

How The Future Looks To Someone Aged 18, Faced With The Economic Doom And Gloom, After Being Raised A Pessimist-Turned Nut Case.......

Im on the brink,
Stood at the edge,
Starting to tip forward,
Watching my life fall out of limbo,
Watching my future come up to greet me,
I am stood at the edge,
Scared,
Terrified,
Hoping there's a safety net about to catch me,
Hoping there's someone there at the bottom,
Hoping,
Hoping,
Knowing im either going to hit the pavement that is rushing up towards me,
Or Im going to make it and fly some place else,
Im going to leave and be a free bird,
Or im going to hit the gutter, face first.
