How The Night Sways Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

How The Night Sways

How the night sways
How the night sways
How the moon violins
It plays
How the flowers bend
Before
At red dusk
Fading
Fading
End.

I love that verb SWAYS to give movement to the nights. Is the night doing its own sweeping dance? Or does it sway because some invisible force moves it? Or is the nigh stationary while the speaker sways and projects the motion into the night? The setting is otherwise almost silent and still and by the end what motion and sound there is has been stilled.
